Heal's Limed Oak Owl Cabinet
The cabinet: A limed oak cabinet over chest designed by Ambrose Heal c.1905 and made for Heal & Son sometime between 1906 - 1927. Iconically known as the Heal's 'Owl Cabinet'. This particular example was one of only 5 made in a weathered oak (limed oak) finish.

Condition: Offered in excellent original condition. The finish has been simply cleaned and waxed - the liming is now very subtle. Please contact us for a detailed condition report and additional images.

Cotswold School Walnut Wardrobe
The Wardrobe: A Cotswold School wardrobe, constructed in English Walnut by Fred Gardiner (1890-1963) c.1948. Fred Gardiner had been an apprentice to Gimson at Daneway and later worked for Peter Waals at Chalford before setting up his own workshop in Oakridge. Provenance.

Large Betty Joel Chest of 10 Drawers
The chest: An English Art Deco / Modernist chest of 10 drawers of unusually large proportions. Designed by Betty Joel and hand made at the Token works in 1938 (labelled). Constructed in well figured West African cherry mahogany. The chest has an asymmetric arrangement of drawers all sat upon a laurel wood plinth.

Substantial Heal's Oak Linen Press Cupboard
The Cupboard: A substantial Arts & Crafts oak linen press / housekeepers cupboard by Heal & Son c.1925. Labelled. Two drawers over a two door shelved cupboard with 3 removable shelves. Original working lock and key. This is a very rare and significantly larger variant of a smaller linen press that Heal's produced throughout the 1920's.

Heals Oak Tilden Dining Table
The table: An oak dining table designed by the architect Philip Tilden in collaboration with Ambrose Heal for Winston Churchill's Chartwell residence c.1922 and made by Heal & Son c.1925. This table has been in the same family since it was purchased new from Heal's during the 1920's and where it has been used as an Archeologists desk.

The Settle: An Arts & Crafts oak settle designed by EG Punnett and made by William Birch of High Wycombe dating circa 1900. There is an impressed mark for the London retailer 'Heal & Son'. The settle has been upholstered in a sage green leather.

Condition: Offered in overall excellent condition.

Dimensions: The settle stands 51.75" tall, 55" wide and 24.5" deep (all maximums). The seat height is 16".

The Cupboard: An Arts & Crafts compact linen press / gents wardrobe by Heal & Son c.1905. Constructed in mahogany with an ebonised finish. The cupboard holds three drawer slides over a single drawer with fine dovetails. The lock is stamped Heal & Son. Original tarnished brassware.

A set of 6 Heal's Limed Oak Tilden Dining Chairs
The chairs: A set of 6 (5+1) oak lattice back "Tilden" dining chairs designed by Ambrose Heal for by Heal's c.1930. The set comprises one carver and five side chairs. Each chair has a drop-in rush seat.

Condition: Offered in very good condition. Each frame have been cleaned and waxed to maintain as much of the original limed finish. All the seats have all been recently re-rushed.

Dimensions: Seat height approx 18"; Back height 34.25" (36.25" for the carver); Seat width (at the front) 17.5" (20" for the carver).

Cotswold School Oak Dresser
The dresser An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School cottage dresser made by Kenneth Desmond Lampard in the mid C20th. Kenneth Desmond Lampard (born 1926) had been a pupil of Edward Barnsley in the late 1940's. The dresser is constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak with a light dry finish.

Condition Offered in excellent original condition.
