Heal's Oak Bookshelves
The bookshelves: A set of wall mounted oak bookshelves by Heal & Son c.1920. No label but these bookshelves are illustrated in the Heal's 1923 catalogue of kitchen furniture. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak.

Arts & Crafts Armchair by Stickley Bros
The chair: An American Arts & Crafts (Mission) armchair by Stickley Bros Co of Grand Rapids c.1910. Branded label. Excellent display of quarter sawn oak and exposed construction. This is a generous sized armchair. Leatherette drop in seat.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Cotswold School Gimson Rocker
The rocker: A Cotswold School oak rocker after a design by Gimson. The craftsman maker is unknown. This rocker has a slightly taller back, with an additional splat and an attractive arch to the back uprights, compared to the typical Gimson rocker design.

The chair: A Cotswold Style oak lattice back armchair made by Gordon Russell and retailed by Heal's c.1930. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak with drop-in rush seats, chamfered front supports and dowelled joints.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. The original fine rush seat is slightly worn but perfectly serviceable. We can offer to have the frame refinished - please contact us for pricing.

Set of 12 Arts & Crafts Oak Dining Chairs by Morris & Co
The chairs: A set of 12 Arts & Crafts oak dining chairs. The set comprises eleven side chairs and one up-scaled carver. All constructed in solid oak with upholstered drop-in seats. The design of these chairs is widely attributed to the offices of Richard Norman Shaw c.1876 for the Tabard Inn at Bedford park. These chairs were made by William Birch of High Wycombe and retailed by Morris & Co as the "Hampton Court" chair. (see V&A Museum collection)

Heal's Limed Oak 7' "Tilden" Dining Table
The table: A limed oak dining table designed by architect Philip Tilden for Winston Churchill's Chartwell residence c.1923. This design was subsequently made and retailed by Heal & Son. This example is labelled and has provenance.

Heal's Library Oak Bookcase
The bookcase: A substantial oak glazed bookcase by Heal's c.1925. labelled. Three glazed doors reveal 12 bookshelves (9 fully adjustable) over three drawers and 3 cupboards with shelves. All original locks and keys present and fully functional. This piece does separate into two parts for ease of movement.

Condition: This bookcase is to be offered in excellent refinished condition.

A Substantial Art Deco Extending Dining Table
The table: A substantial Art Deco extending dining table dating c.1930. Designer & maker are unknown but this is a fine quality piece. Constructed using bur walnut with madagascan ebony cross banding. The table extends by means of two draw leaves to achieve a very impressive table.

Betty Joel Chest of 9 Drawers
The chest: An English Art Deco / Modernist chest of 9 drawers of unusually long proportions. Designed by Betty Joel and hand made at the Token works in 1938 (labelled). Constructed in well figured West African cherry mahogany. The chest has a plate glass inset top (currently shown without) with an arrangement of 4 over 3 over 2 drawers all sat upon a laurel wood plinth.

Heal's Lattice Back "Letchworth" Dresser
The dresser: An Arts & Crafts chestnut dresser designed by Ambrose Heal for Heal & Son c.1905. This is the iconic dresser that Heal's exhibited at the "Cheap Cottages" exhibition in Letchworth Garden City in 1905.

Substantial Heal's Art Deco Walnut Parquetry Dining Table
The table: An English Art Deco walnut parquetry top dining table by Heal's c.1925. The walnut is a wonderful light golden colour. The top is made up of geometric parquet work. This table was designed to comfortably sit 8 persons. There is a plate glass top for this table (not shown). I also have a matching set of 8 dining chairs and a sideboard available separately.
