Cotswold School Limed Oak Dresser
The dresser: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School oak dresser after Peter Waals c.1930. Craftsman made, it has been constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with exposed dowels and through tenons. The limed finish is very subtle.

Arts & Crafts Cotswold School Wardrobe by Gordon Russell
The wardrobe: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School wardrobe by Gordon Russell c.1925. Labelled. The wardrobe is constructed in solid, well figured, quarter-sawn oak with contrasting bog oak handles. The interior comprises two full length hanging compartments. This wardrobe can be dismantled into 3 parts for ease of movement - overcoming most awkward access ways.

Arts & Crafts Liberty & Co Linen Press / Chest
The chest: An Arts & Crafts large oak freestanding linen press / chest by Edwin T. Hall and Edwin S. Hall for Liberty & Co c.1924. Rectangular top with moulded angles over two substantial drawers (on brass runners), each with distinctive wrought iron drop handles. Panelled sides and rear, all raised on block feet.

Condition: Offered in excellent (refinished) condition.

Dimensions: 106cm wide, 86cm high and 76cm deep.

Provinance: Made circa 1924 for Liberty & Co's magnificent Tudor building on Great Marlborough Street. Designed by Edwin Thomas Hall and his son Edwin Stanley Hall and constructed from the timbers of two men-of-war battleships: HMS Impregnable and HMS Hindustan. The chest is part of a range of furniture made for the rooms and galleries to display the textiles, clothes and luxury goods the shop was so famous for. All were made in the sixteenth century style, with pegged construction and decorative details complementing the design details of the building. All the furniture was made in the firm's workshops in Highgate and demonstrate the same high levels of craftsmanship and attention to detail as the building itself.

Betty Joel Walnut Desk
The desk: A Betty Joel Queensland Walnut breakfront desk with West African Cherry drawer fronts. Labelled & signed. This desk can be free standing as it has an attractive panelled back. There is an arrangement of seven deep drawers: a central frieze drawer flanked by twin pedestals each comprising three graduating drawers.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition with a new tooled leather top.

Dimensions: The desk stands 31" tall, 48" wide and 28" deep.

Arts & Crafts Ash Settle by William Birch
The settle: An Arts & Crafts three seater ash settle made by William Birch of High Wycombe c.1900 after a design by E. Punnett.

Condition: Offered in very good condition. The frame is firm and solid with no evidence of any significant damage or repair. The original finish has been revived and the seat has been professionally re-rushed.

Condition: Shown prior to any restoration, these chairs are to be offered having had their frames tightened and refinished. There is the option to retain the original drop in rush seats or to have them redone - please contact us for details.

Betty Joel Indian Laurel Extending Dining Table
The table: An Indian Laurel wood extending dining table with fluted column legs on sleigh feet with exposed dowelled construction. The table extends by means of a draw leaf at each end. The label reads: Token hand made furniture, designed by Betty Joel, made by W R Hamilton at the Token Works 1928.
