A set of 6 Heal's Limed Oak Tilden Dining Chairs
The chairs: A set of 6 (5+1) oak lattice back "Tilden" dining chairs designed by Ambrose Heal for by Heal's c.1930. The set comprises one carver and five side chairs. Each chair has a drop-in rush seat.

Condition: Offered in very good condition. Each frame have been cleaned and waxed to maintain as much of the original limed finish. All the seats have all been recently re-rushed.

Dimensions: Seat height approx 18"; Back height 34.25" (36.25" for the carver); Seat width (at the front) 17.5" (20" for the carver).

The sideboard: An Arts & Crafts, Cotswold Style limed oak sideboard by Heal & Son c.1925. Three drawers over one single and one double cupboard. Constructed in well figured, quarter sawn oak with contrasting ebonised handles and gun barrel legs. Labelled.

Arts & Crafts Cotswold School Oak Chest of Drawers
The Chest: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold School oak chest of 4 drawers. Designed by Peter Waals and made by final year handicraft students under the direction of Edward Barnsley in the 1930s for Hazlerigg Hall (now part of Loughborough University). The chest has its original turned and facetted handles and is beautifully constructed with exposed dovetails and through tenons.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition. All drawers run remarkably smoothly.

Betty Joel Tallboy / Drinks Cabinet
The cabinet: An English Art Deco / Modernist drinks cabinet / tallboy designed by Betty Joel and made at the Token Works plymouth 1931. Labelled. Constructed in well figured West African cherry mahogany with an inset glass top over a two door (drinks) cupboard with glass shelf, a slide and a bank of four drawers. This piece does separate into two pieces for ease of movement.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Pair of Arts & Crafts Cotswold School Oak Bookcases
The bookcases: A pair of Arts & Crafts Cotswold School oak waterfall bookcases dating circa 1930's. Constructed in solid, well figured quarter sawn oak with exposed dovetails and through tenons. Maker unknown.

Condition: offered in very good condition - original finish cleaned and waxed.

Dimensions: There is a very slight (half an inch) difference in width between the bookcases. The width of one id 28.25" and the other 28.75". Both stand 35" tall and 10.25" deep (at the base). The upper shelves are 6.25" deep and the lower shelf is 8.25" deep.

Cotswold Style Oak Chest of drawers by Brynmawr Furniture
The chest: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold style chest of three over four drawers designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with octagonal handles, double stepped drawer fronts and bevelled panels to the sides.

Cotswold School Oak Desk
The desk: A Cotswold School single pedestal desk after Peter Waals c.1930. The maker is unknown however this piece does remind me of the furniture made by handicraft students under the direction of Edward Barnsley (to designs by Peter Waals) during the 1930s. This desk has been hand crafted in character oak with exposed dovetails and through tenons.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition. There is some expansions in various places but the whole piece is firm and solid.

Dimensions: Height 29.5", width 41.25" and depth 20.75"

Cotswold Style Oak Sideboard with Drinks Cabinet by Brynmawr Furniture
The sideboard: A Cotswold Style oak side board with a glazed, mirrored back drinks cabinet, designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. The drinks cabinet has two sliding glass doors over 3 drawers and three shelved cupboards. All with distinctive Brynmawr stepped and bevelled panels and pegged wedge shaped handles.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition. All glass doors, shelf and mirrored back are original - some very slight foxing to the latter.

The chairs: A set of 6 Arts & Crafts Cotswold School oak dining chairs after Gimson c.1930. The set comprises 2 carvers and 4 side chairs, each with a drop in rush seat and exposed construction.

Condition: Offered in very good condition. Two of the rush seats have slight damage albeit perfectly useable. We can offer to have those seats re-rushed (or indeed all 6) - please enquire for details.

Dimensions: Seat height 17.5", width 17.75" & back height 35.5". The carvers are slightly wider at 19.75" at the seat or 21" at the arms, and slightly taller in the back at 36.5".

The chairs: A very rare set of 6 Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style oak dining chairs by Brynmawr furniture c.1930. Named the "Brynmawr" chair, it was used on an iconic Art Deco publicity poster for Brynmawr Furniture.

Condition: Shown prior to having their frames tightened, cleaned and waxed. The original seagrass seats are in excellent order and will be retained.

Betty Joel Walnut "Ashton" Dining Table
The table: A Modernist / Art Deco walnut dining table designed by Betty Joel and made by A. Buckingham in 1935 at the Token Works. The table is labelled and it also appears in Betty Joel catalogues as the "Ashton" table. Constructed in solid, well figured, Australian (Queensland) walnut sat upon solid rosewood feet. This stunning table would also make a fine writing table / desk.

The table: An Arts & Crafts, Cotswold School oak refectory dining table by Gordon Russell c.1930. This table is beautifully constructed in solid English oak, with octagonal legs joined by sledge feet and a stretcher. Provenance: Formally a school (near Cambridge) refectory table.

Condition: Offered in very good condition: Structurally sound; base cleaned and waxed; top refinished maintaining its bleached appearance and some character.
