Art Deco Inlaid Desk By Bath Cabinet Makers
The desk: An Art Deco desk by Bath Cabinet Makers c.1925. Decorative veneers of walnut, satinwood and rosewood with bakerlite handles. Original working locks and key to all drawers. Label remnant. Original tooled leather top.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition. Original leather displays character. We can offer to have the top re-leathered at additional cost - please inquire.

The desk: An English Art Deco Australian (Queensland) walnut serpentine, twin pedestal desk by Betty Joel c.1935. Original clam shell bakelite handles.

Cotswold School Oak Desk
The desk: A Cotswold School single pedestal desk after Peter Waals c.1930. The maker is unknown however this piece does remind me of the furniture made by handicraft students under the direction of Edward Barnsley (to designs by Peter Waals) during the 1930s. This desk has been hand crafted in character oak with exposed dovetails and through tenons.

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition. There is some expansions in various places but the whole piece is firm and solid.

Dimensions: Height 29.5", width 41.25" and depth 20.75"

The bureau: An Art Deco / Modernist limed oak asymmetric bureau bookcase by Heal's dating c.1933. Labelled. The fall front drops to create a desk space and reveals a sectioned interior.

Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style Bureau by Brynmawr Furniture
The bureau: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style oak bureau designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr Furniture c.1930. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak with a generous fall front desk over an arrangement of three over two drawers. The bureau is stylised with stepped and bevelled panels and wedge shaped handles held in place with exposed pegs.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition.

Dimensions: Width 33", Height 42" and depth 19.5" closed, 32" open. When open, the desk top area is approx 31.5" wide by 22" deep. When the fall front is closed, there is an area 29.75" wide, 18.75" deep and 1.75" high for the storage of laptops and similar.

Cotswold Style Oak Bureau By Brynmawr Furniture
The bureau: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style bureau designed by Paul Matt for Brynmawr furniture c.1930. Fall front opens to reveal a pigeon hole interior over two drawers. Quarter sawn oak figuring throughout with stepped and facetted fielded panels. Octagonal wedge shaped handles with exposed pegs to the interior.

Condition: Offered in excellent refinished condition. This bureau is currently waiting to have a new leather fitted to the desk area - this is included in the price.

Dimensions: Width 27", depth 17" and height overall 42". Open desk area is 25" wide by 22" deep. There is space for a laptop to be accommodated within the bureau with the fall from closed - up to 24" wide, 16" deep and 2.25" thick.

Betty Joel Oak Bureau
The bureau: An oak bureau designed by Betty Joel and hand-made by W G Evans at the "Token" works, Portsmouth in 1929. Labelled. The fall front opens to reveal a part fitted interior with pigeon holes and a bank of three drawers including a secret compartment.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition.

Dimensions: Width 24", height 46" and depth (closed) 16.5" or 32.5" (open). Open the desk area is 22.5" x 24" with a tooled leather writing area of 18.5" x 12.5".

The desk: An Arts & Crafts Cotswold Style oak writing, possibly by Bath Cabinet Makers, dating c.1925. Constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak. Three drawers with chip carved handles and frieze over chamfered supports joined together by a H stretcher.

There is an arrangement of seven deep drawers: a central frieze drawer flanked by twin pedestals each comprising three graduating drawers.
