Heal's Nest of 3 Oak Side Tables
The tables: A nest of three oak side tables to lift out from above each other. No label but we have the original purchase receipt from Heals. These tables are shown in most of the Heal's catalogues of the 1930's.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition. Shown prior to having their finish revived.

Dimensions: The largest table stands 20" tall, 15" wide and 15" deep.

The table: An Arts & Crafts "Letchworth" 6' oak refectory dining table by Heal & Son circa 1905. No label.

Condition: Offered in good original firm and solid condition. Good character and patina, some expansion to top joints. The table will be cleaned and waxed ready for the home. We can offer this table fully restored and refinished, please contact us for details.

The Chest: An early Ambrose Heal designed Arts & Crafts oak chest of 3 drawers, c.1898, with exposed dovetails. Impressed "Heal & Son" mark to the top drawer. This chest is constructed in well figured quarter sawn oak.

Condition: Offered in very good original condition - top surface has been refinished with the remainder cleaned and revived.

The bureau: A Cotswold Style breakfront bureau bookcase by Heal's c.1930. Labelled. Constructed in solid well figured quarter sawn oak. The fall front opens to reveal a pigeon hole fitted interior, over a central bank of three drawers flanked by open bookcases each with three adjustable shelves (shown with two fitted).

Condition: Offered in very good refinished condition.

The chest may have been altered at point of purchase or possibly later. This chest stands 6" shorter than other chests of the identical design. Heal's were well known at this time for altering items to customer requirements and it is quite feasible that any alteration was done by them.
